Welcome back to day 5 - the last day of the Quinn sewalong. Today we are just doing the final details so it should be pretty quick.
Step 33 - Fold the Left Tie (shorter tie) over the middle bar of the buckle by about 1”. Pin.
Stitch thru all layers.
Loop the Right Tie (longer tie) through the bars to tighten the back according to your desired fit.
Step 34 - Using the Button/Buttonhole Guide, mark the buttonholes on the right front edge. If you have added any length to your vest or dress you will need to mark them manually. Mark the top and bottom first and the middle ones equal distance apart. The spacing should be around 2.5-3" apart. If it get much wider than that, add another button.
I like to use a washable marker in a similar color to mark my buttonholes, but use any marking tool you prefer.
Sew the buttonholes and carefully cut them open.
Mark the buttons on the left front. I like to mark then through my open buttonholes once the fronts are overlapped.Note that the buttons should be placed towards the inside edge of the buttonhole opening for a secure fit.
Sew on your buttons. I sew them on using my machine and use a bit of a glue stick to keep them in place while sewing. But you can also sew them on by hand.
Congrats! You are finished. I hope you found the Quinn sewalong helpful.
