HI, I'M KELLI.
I live in Denver, Colorado with my husband, two kids, and sheepadoodle. Nothing "fills my cup" more than spending a few quiet, absorbing hours sewing. When I'm not in my studio, you can find me working on a home DIY project, baking or dancing. I believe strongly in creating something everyday. It's good for my soul and gives me stability in a constantly changing and increasingly digital world.
THE STORY BEHIND TRUE BIAS
Ten years ago I found myself as a stay-at-home mom, grasping for identity, and running to my sewing machine whenever I had a bit of time for myself. So I started a sewing blog, and it grew. I kept sewing, improving my skills, and loving it more and more. A few years later while living in NYC, I stumbled upon a pattern making program at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and fell in love.
There were lots of night classes, homework during nap times, and passing kids off to my husband at train stops, but True Bias was born soon after with the release of the Hudson pants. I have been designing modern clothing patterns and creating sewing education ever since. True Bias is still a small company, but we have grown to a point that I never could have imagined in those early years. I truly have created the job I always wanted.
