I hope you enjoying last week's gift guide where I make recommendations for sewing related gifts that were a bit of a splurge. Today we will reign it in and focus on medium priced gifts that range from about $25 - $100. I hope that some of these ideas inspire you.
Phone Tripod - I have had some many phone tripods over the years and this one is by far the best I've owned. I now have one for my office and one for home. The key difference for this one if the magnetic holder. You do have to attach a magnetic ring to the back of your phone case, but this makes it so easy to attach, rotate etc... None of those awkward clamps that are always pinching my fingers. It collapses down to a very small pole that is easy for travel and feels sturdy for what it is. If you participate in MeMadeMay or take phone photos or videos for instagram, this is a great gift.
KATM Advent Calendar - It's always fun to add a label to your handmade clothing and Katie and the Machine makes it extra fun with their sewing label advent calendar. The Advent contains 65 labels that are designed to make the home sewist smile or chuckle. It really is a gift that will keep on giving for the entire next year or more.
Tool Belt for Sewists - Sewing has so many tools, which is why I think this tool belt from Wookroom Social is brilliant. I am know for putting my scissors, ruler, seam ripper etc... down somewhere and losing them, so this tool belt is super handy at keeping everything on you as you move between sewing, cutting, and ironing stations.
Wool Pressing Pad - I know that quilters use these a lot, but I've always wondered why garment sewists don't use them more. They are very portable, natural, and great if you are trying to video your ironing for instagram reels.
Gutermann Starter Pack - I love Mara 100 all purpose thread. It's my go to thread. The thread comes on large spools and the quality is great. You can buy one of their starter packs which will give you their most popular colors, and while you are at it, do yourself a favor and grab on of their thead matching books.
Tailor's Clapper - A tailor's clapper is a wooden pressing tool that levels up your seams and topstitching on lots of garments, but especially bulkier sews like coats, jeans, and overalls. There are lots of handmade options on etsy which is where I got mine.
That is it for today. Check back in next week when I will be recommending some gift ideas in the lower priced range.
