Introducing the Blair Skirt Sewing Pattern

We are very excited to a new True Bias pattern releasing today, the Blair Skirt. The Blair pattern comes in two size ranges -  0-18 and 14-32.

The Blair pattern is a straight skirt with front buttons, belt loops, optional inverted front pockets and an optional belt.

The skirt comes in three lengths. Length A is a mini skirt hitting around mid thigh.

Length B is midi length, with the hem hitting a couple of inches below the knee.

Lastly, length C is maxi length, ending around the ankle.

The Blair was designed to be sewn up in woven (non stretch) bottom weight fabrics like linen, twill, denim and corduroy.

You will also need some lining fabric like quilting cotton or cotton lawn for the waistband and pockets. Lastly you will also want to source some medium weight fusible interfacing.

As far as notions go, you will want to source 3/4" buttons for the front button band and pockets. We carry 3/4" buttons in our shop, but any 3/4" buttons will do.

You can wear a normal belt with the Blair or sew up the optional self belt. If you sew up the belt you are going to need to source a sliding buckle with an approximate 1.5" (the width of the fabric belt) opening. We are selling resin buckles in our shop in both a classic brown tortoise finish and a marbled black finish. You can also use D rings for the belt too.

We hope you love the Blair skirt. We think it pairs perfectly with the Nikko top and is a great option for all of those holiday get togethers right around the corner.

We have lots of support coming your way over the next few weeks for the Blair including ready-to-wear inspiration, fitting help, and of course a full video and photo sewalong.

You can find the pattern in our shop here.
