ON MY MIND SEWING

BACK TO SCHOOL

September 16, 2013

It’s been a really exciting couple of weeks for me as I finally decided to become a student again!  I took some pattern-making classes 10 years ago when still in college, but never felt like I had the time to really dive into it because it wasn’t my major.  Now, a mom with two kids, I finally decided it’s time to take more seriously the thing that I actually spend all of my extra time doing.  So this semester I am taking my first night class at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  This is something that I have dreamed about for a long time so I am just giddy that it’s actually happening.  I am not sure where this is all going to take me, but I feel like it’s a big step in the right direction.  I can’t explain how alive I felt just stepping on campus.  Just wanted to share this with you all because you would probably understand better than most.

Pattern cutting your own designs will really open up the possibilities for you! You’ll probably be so excited you won’t know what to design first, but just enjoy the learning!
